These are the conclusions from the analysis of the effect of EU funds on the country’s development.
The crisis will affect all those Polish regions where development will be slower until 2015. However, in some regions the Polish people’s standard of living will increase, with, for example, the residents of Mazowsze measuring up to the EU average in 5 years.
In 2015 GDP per capita will increase and reach the level of nearly 65 per cent, although this is less than was expected some time ago.
Optimistic forecasts for Poland are also presented in the report of the European Commission. This year, both Slovakia and Poland will be the fastest developing countries in the European Union. Our GDP will be twice higher than in the whole EU. Poland’s economic development is to be stimulated by export. Thanks to the improving economic situation of our main trade partners such as Germany, France and Italy, Polish goods are becoming more and more sought after. Experts say, however, that the export growth will not be as dynamic as in previous years.
