- We want IT to become a Polish specialty, and we are going to promote our achievements in this field all over the world. The CeBIT fair is a great opportunity to do this – said the Vice Minister of Economy - Dariusz Bogdan during a meeting with Martina Lubon, Vice President of Deutsche Messe Hannover.
Vice Minister Bogdan reminded listeners that the ICT market is growing very dynamically in Poland, and Polish IT specialists are sought after all over the world.
- We want to use this potential and build a strong Polish IT presence on the global market – he said. The value of the Polish IT market is estimated at approx. 10.6 billion dollars and in 2010 it is forecast to increase by 3 percent.
The annual CeBIT fair in Hannover constitutes one of the most important events of this kind in the ICT sector. In the Vice Minister’s opinion, the participation of numerous Polish companies in the event will help to create a good image of the Polish economy and to promote our achievements in the field of IT technologies. - By active participation in CeBIT in 2011 we want to prove that we will be a perfect partner country for the 2012 fair – he added.
The Ministry of Economy is organizing a joint national stand at the CeBIT 2011 fair. The exhibition area (500 square meters - 350 square meters in Hall no.6 and 150 square meters in Hall no.9) will be divided among regions which have expressed willingness to participate. Internet access will be provided, and areas will be set aside for business discussions. Stands will be made available to Polish regions, which will be able to promote their best brands and specialties. The Ministry is also preparing instruments which will provide entrepreneurs with additional funding for participation in the fair.
Małopolskie Voivodeship is one among seven regions of Poland which are ready to participate in the most prestigious trade fair of the ICT sector. We will make it possible for companies from Małopolska to make multimedia presentations and to display information materials. We also hope that educational institutions will participate and promote their activities.
Prior to this year’s fair, our region participated twice in the CeBIT fair. In 2007 under the name Malopolska Innovation Potential, in 2010 – IT Business In Małopolska. Contacts with about 160 foreign companies were established and in approx. 20 cases, the companies commenced permanent cooperation.
